Just a little about myself…
I am an American of Irish/Norwegian background mostly. I was brought up as an Evangelical Free Christian but at the age of 15 came to Islam. I have never looked back and look upon the decision to accept Islam as one of the best decisons I have made in my life. My faith has been a constant companion and something that is very near and dear to my heart.
I now reside in Nashville, TN since 1996 when I moved down from MN/ND my home states. I am married to a Kurdish man and we have 4 boys and a princess:) Nashville also happens to be the community with the largest Kurdish refugee population in the United States.

Hi Nergiz,
How are you doing. This is Heja from Fargo-Moorhead. The Brifki’s…..Cool website.
Take Care
I am doing good Heja, how’s married life:)? Insh’Allah you guys are doing great….guess what, my mom left Fargo last weekend, after 20 years, she moved to Thief River Falls…but we will still come visit you guys sometimes. You are welcome to come to Nashville to visit too.
Tell everyone that me and Meran say hello.
Married life is good. It’s new but I will get use to it. Really? Your mom left Fargo, wow! I bet that wasn’t easy for her. I was in Nashville over the summer for Araz’s funeral but didn’t get a chance to really go anywhere, since we were at the mosque all of the days. Well you guys should come visit soon, we all got houses now, so this means there is plenty of room, where your family can have a house all to yourself. My family says hi back…Take care and selava le mal beke.
Selam………….
I read your story in the paper recently. Interested in buying some of the flat bread you mentioned in the article. Which store in Nashville is your favorite? Could you give me a name and address? Thanks J
Hey thanks for posting to my blog and reading the article in the Tennessean.
I apologize for my delayed response.
There are several bread stores all on Nolensville Road in south Nashville.
My two favorite are Sulav Market 4647 Nolensville Pike
and Azadi Market 391 Elysian Fields Ct. (also off of Nolensville Rd)
Bread runs 2-2.50 for a bag of 5 pieces of flat bread and they are baked fresh daily…early morning is best time to get bread as its less busy.
Hope you enjoy!
